Take a hawk for a walk
(Book at Merlin’s Mews)Experience the thrill of handling and flying a trained Harris Hawk with a ‘hands on’ flying experience. A gentle stroll with superb views is enhanced by the excitement of a Harris Hawk flying free to your glove.
There are two evening hawk walks which, weather permitting, are available each day. The walks take approximately one hour.
The first is a gentle stroll with Thunder following and flying from trees to post and on to your glove for tit bits of food.
The second is for the more adventurous (and not for the squeamish!) as Lightening flies from your glove in search of her natural choice of prey – the rabbit. Hopefully, you will witness her spot, hunt and catch her prey.
